The short version: we collect what we need to run the Services, we use cookies, and we keep private data private — always. We never sell your personal information. Nothing you put in your locker is public unless you publish it yourself.

1. What we collect

Account: email, username, and a password we store only as a salted hash.
Profile (optional): display name, avatar, interests, city / state / ZIP, country.
Locker content: what you catalog — guns (serial numbers encrypted), gear, ammo, range and service logs, photos, notes.
Member activity: listings you publish, messages with other members, ratings and reviews you write and receive, reports you file.
Usage & device data: pages visited and basic device info via analytics cookies (with consent), plus approximate location from your IP — used, for example, to limit marketplace features to the US.

2. How we use it

To run the Services: your locker, your public pages, messaging, reviews, and the marketplace features you opt into.
To keep the community safe: moderation, rating thresholds, spam and abuse prevention, security.
To email you the essentials: verification, password resets, and service notices. No marketing spam.
To understand usage in aggregate and improve the site.

3. Cookies

Essential: a session cookie keeps you signed in. It's httpOnly and required for member features.
Analytics: Google Analytics, loaded through our consent manager (CookieHub). You can decline or change your choice anytime via the cookie settings control.

4. What stays private — always

Serial numbers (encrypted; visible only to you — never to other members, never on public pages).
Your email address, purchase prices, precise address, and anything in your locker you haven't published.
Private messages (visible to the two participants; our moderators can review threads to investigate reports, fraud, or legal issues).
Public pages show only what you explicitly chose to share, and you can unpublish at any time.

We never sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that run the platform — hosting and delivery (Netlify), database (Neon), email (Resend), analytics (Google, with consent), cookie consent (CookieHub) — each bound to use it only to provide their service; and when the law genuinely requires it, or to protect members from fraud or harm.

6. Payments

Member sales are peer-to-peer. We never receive, process, or store payment card numbers. Payment handles and checkout links you add to a listing are shown to potential buyers because you chose to list them. If we add optional payment processing later, it will come with its own clearly-disclosed terms before you opt in.

7. Retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. Delete your account and your locker content, photos, and profile go with it; things woven into other members' experiences (messages you sent them, ratings, moderation records) may be retained in de-identified or minimal form for integrity and legal reasons.

8. Your choices

Edit or delete locker content, photos, and profile details anytime; unpublish public pages and listings anytime.
Ask us for a copy of your data, corrections, or deletion: info@plinkexchange.com. We honor applicable rights under state privacy laws (and GDPR for visitors it covers).
Control analytics cookies via the cookie settings control on every page.

9. Children

The site isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. Buying and selling features require 18+.
