- Aug 2024: the Home Ministry suspended every civilian firearm licence issued 6 Jan 2009–5 Aug 2024 and required the arms to be deposited at police stations by 3 Sep 2024. A revised licensing policy issued 10 Jul 2025 raised the income-tax proof needed for a licence (Tk 500,000 a year for three years for a pistol, revolver or rifle; Tk 200,000 for a shotgun) and doubled licence fees. How these measures treat airguns is unconfirmed.
