The rules in detail

Law 57 of 2011 regulates firearms, ammunition and related materials. Art. 17 defines 'armas de acción por gases comprimidos' (compressed-gas pistols and rifles using ammunition up to 5.5 mm) separately from firearms, and the Act's tenencia and porte rules are written for firearms. No permit requirement for ordinary air guns surfaced, but weapon-like misuse remains risky.
