Are Airguns Legal in Sweden?

Yes, with conditions.

Generally legal, but with real rules to follow, usually age verification and, in some places, a low-power threshold.

Air weapons generally require a permit, but 'limited-power' (effektbegränsade) air, CO2 and spring guns intended for target shooting can be possessed by adults 18+ without a licence (Weapons Act 2026:408, ch. 2 §2). Limited power = under 10 J at 4 m from the muzzle; under 3 J for fully automatic guns (Weapons Ordinance 2026:409, §7).
